Laurence Andries, also called Larry Andries, is an American motion picture writer and producer. He was a Co-Executive Producer and writer for the first and second seasons of Boomtown. He has also worked with Boomtown creator Graham Yost on The Pacific. He has also worked on Six Feet Under, Supernatural, and The Hoop Life.

Career[]

Earlier career[]

He wrote the short film Kangaroo Court (1994).

In early 1998 he was an Executive Story Editor and writer for the series Prey.

In the 1998 to 1999 season he was a writer and Co-Producer for the third and final season of science fiction drama Millenium. He wrote the fourth episode "Closure".

In the 1999 to 2000 season he was a writer and Producer for the basketball drama The Hoop Life. The series starred future Boomtown lead Mykelti Williamson.

In 2001 he was a producer and writer for the new HBO drama series Six Feet Under. He wrote the fourth episode "Familia" and the eighth episode "Crossroads". He was promoted to supervising producer for the second season in 2002. He wrote the second episode "Out, Out, Brief Candle". Andries and the other producers of Six Feet Under were nominated for the Emmy Award for Best Drama Series in 2002.

Boomtown[]

He joined the crew of Boomtown as a Co-Executive Producer and writer for the first season in fall 2002. He joined the crew after the pilot had been produced and debuted with the second episode "Possession". He wrote the fourth episode "Reelin' in the Years" and the fourteenth episode "Execution". He returned as a Co-Executive Producer for the second season in fall 2003. The show was canceled after six episodes.

Later career[]

He became a Co-Executive Producer and writer for the third season of Alias in 2004. He wrote the episode "Blowback".

In fall 2004 he was an Executive Producer and writer for the new drama Medical Investigation. He wrote the sixth episode "Team".

In 2007 he was a Consulting Producer and writer for the third season of Sueprnatural. He wrote the episode "Red Sky at Morning".

In 2010 he wrote for the HBO drama miniseries The Pacific. The show focused on soldiers in the Pacific theatre of World War II. He wrote the fifth part "Peleliu Landing" and the sixth part "Peleliu Airfield". Boomtown creator Graham Yost was a Consulting Producer for the series. Boomtown Consulting Producer and writer Michelle Ashford also wrote for The Pacific.
